Many families have become solvent-making handicraft  products . Therefore, the government is also encouraging unemployed youths to join in the handicraft industry. In Bangladesh, the handicraft industry is a very potential sector. Every year, the exporting amount and foreign currency are increasing by stages. It has a huge possibility, because of the availability of raw materials, low labor cost, and skilled workers, government loan taking amenity, etc. Following this potential, new entrepreneurs are growing rapidly. However, China, Vietnam, and Thailand also have a stronger position in supplying handicraft products in the international market. What Are The Raw Materials Of Handicraft Products ?

Handicraft products are globally well-known. Craft is not simply a design on any stuff, rather it exhibits the history, culture, human lifestyle and efforts, sagacity, and many more. As an International Marketing Analytics, I love to work in this craft industry as it is really a potential sector.

Jute :

Jute is a vegetable fiber. It's also known as the " Golden fiber" in Bangladesh. It is a commonly used raw material for handicraft products. The products are made by Jute are becoming more expensive day by day. India, Bangladesh, China are highly jute producing countries in the world.

Wood :

Wood is widely used and the common handicraft material. In many parts of Bangladesh, wood is available to make handicrafts. In addition, there is plenty of tropical forests found in Indonesia, where the biggest natural wealth of wood in the world in existing. Also, China is the world-leading wood exporting country in 2016, where $18.1 billion dollar wood was exported, which is 12.8% of the global market share of total wood product exports.

Using wood, a variety of handicraft products are made around the world, such as flower vases, photo frames, wooden decorative, kitchen accessories, ornaments, animal sculpture, and so on.

Clay :

Many types of clay we can find around the earth. All types of clay are not used for craft making. There is a clay named Polymer, after baking it becomes hard and waterproof. It is widely used in all sorts of projects. Air Dry Clay is a versatile raw material used in a variety of handicraft projects. Clayey soil also used for handicraft making.

 
Bamboo  :

Bamboo is the fastest growing plant in the world. There is plenty of type of Bamboo are available in the world. Approximately 26 types of bamboos are found. These bamboos are used to make many sort of craft products. In South Asia, In East Asia, and Southeast Asia, Bamboo has a huge economic and cultural significance. The most commonplace for bamboo is Southeast Asia.  Local residents are using bamboo to make their accommodations and other daily usages. 

Beads  :

Using beads, there are a lot of products are made, such as ladies bags, mobile case, flower bag, home decorative stuff and so on. Nowadays, it is becoming more popular gradually. Beads can be made with any color, this is also a reason why it is being patronized. Furthermore, in many training centers, especially in Bangladesh, girls of middle and low-income backgrounds are contributing their families financially by creating crafts using beads.


Rattan  :
Rattan is a highly used raw Material for making crafts. There is a range of products made with rattan, and these products are hugely demanding at home and abroad. To illustrate,  Chair, Sofa, Table mat, Rug , Basket and many more household items are made of rattan. There are 13 different types of rattans are found. However, 70 percent of rattan in the world market comes from Indonesia. And, rest 30 percent comes from the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Malaysia,  Bangladesh, and so on.
