How Handicraft Exporting Is Contributing To Bangladesh Economy ?

  Handicraft exporting is contributing to Bangladesh's economy significantly. In terms of the employment  of rural women, it plays a crucial role. Many families have become solvent-making handicraft  products . Therefore, the government is also encouraging unemployed youths to join in the handicraft industry. In Bangladesh, the handicraft industry is a very potential sector. Every year, the exporting amount and foreign currency are increasing by stages. It has a huge possibility, because of the availability of raw materials, low labor cost, and skilled workers, government loan taking amenity, etc. Following this potential, new entrepreneurs are growing rapidly. However, China, Vietnam, and Thailand also have a stronger position in supplying handicraft products in the international market. What Handicrafts Are Exported From Bangladesh ?

There are a range of handicrafts exported from Bangladesh every year.Such as Nakshi Katha, Shital Pati, Jamdani, Bamboo crafts, Woodcrafts, Rattan, Beads  products and so on. Surprisingly, Muslin Saree has discovered again, which perhaps be the most fascinating craft product exported from Bangladesh in the near future.


Nakshi Katha  :

Nakshi Katha is a part of Bangali tradition. Once upon a time, it's made with old clothes, like Saree. Nowadays, it has become more famous globally and made with new cotton cloths. Plenty of designs are drawn in the heart and four corners of the cloth. Designs are mainly picked up from village lifestyle and natural beauty, which characterized a cloth in a different look and value.


Shital Pati  :

In Bangladesh Shital Pati is used widely in the summer season in particular. Shital Pati has hundred years of history. The raw materials are Cane or Murta Plants, which are only available in Sylhet and Noakhali districts of Bangladesh.The main bearers and practitioners are weavers dwelling in the village in greater Sylhet. Shital Pati is a traditional art of Sylhet, Bangladesh. On 6 December 2017, UNESCO recognized the art of handcrafted Shital Pati as intangible Cultural Heritage.

Jamdani  :

Jamdani  Saree is a very famous and beloved cloth type to Bangladeshi women, and now it's popular all over the world. Jamdani Saree is made with high-quality Cotton. It is also known as Dhakaia Jamdani. It is mainly of Parsian origin and highly suggestive of Mughal influence. Jamdani Saree is a soft cotton saree. In the global market, it's a highly demanding cloth.

Bamboo crafts :

Every year a considerable amount of bamboo crafts are exported from Bangladesh to Europe, America and many parts of UAE. Bamboo crafts are looking luxurious and decorative, as a consequence, these products are so admiring. Bamboo crafts are saliently used for adorning homes, restaurants, offices, and so on

Wooden  Crafts :

From the primitive era to till now, wood has been using widely to continue our daily lives and decorating our accommodations. With the progress of civilization, the use of wood has altered. Many countries are planting trees to produce wood for filling up domestic and global demand. There are many countries supplying wooden crafts, but Bangladesh is one of the best countries in the international market. Supplied crafts are representing Bangladesh on the global platform. Along with decorating home, these crafts are upholding the traditions of exporting countries.

Bead crafts :

Bead products are substantially existing in the global market with splendid beauty and usefulness. The demand for these products is accelerating to a salient extent. Making bead products is not too tough, moreover, the raw materials are also easy to accumulate. Therefore, day by day the productions and sales are promoting.

Dhakai Muslin :

Once upon a time, Dhakai Muslin was a great innovation of weavers of Dhaka, Bangladesh. After that, it was extinguished. It is said that " once upon a time, after weaving Muslin cloth, weavers’ fingers were cut down" so that they would not be capable to make another Muslin cloth, therefore Muslin cloth was died out so far assumed. Surprisingly, a team in Bangladesh has renovated Muslin cloth after 170 years. This innovated Muslin is exactly like the previous Muslin cloth. To conduct the exploration, a Muslin cloth sample was collected from British Museum, after that research was started. Only 4 crores were spent to reach in desire destination. 400 years old cloth is Muslin, after researching 6 years, again we got Muslin in 2019.
